In 2023, Valorant Game Changers brought the global spotlight to São Paulo, Brazil from November 28 to December 3 — a historic event dedicated to celebrating women and marginalized genders in esports. We traveled there to capture the spirit of this groundbreaking moment, crafting a memorable opening film that set the tone for the tournament and honored the players who are redefining what’s possible in the gaming world. Valorant has one of the most diverse player bases in esports, with over 30% of its players identifying as women, making Game Changers not just important, but essential to the future of the scene.
To embody the fierce energy of Game Changers, we leaned into a raw, punk rock aesthetic. Game Changers isn't about playing by the rules — it's about breaking them. These competitors are shattering stereotypes and defying expectations in a space that has long been gatekept. We set out to represent that spirit with an unapologetic edge: bold, in-your-face, and purposefully unpolished — without falling into traditional gendered visuals. Our goal was to capture the real revolution happening within the community.
