VALORANT
CHAMPIONS SEOUL (FINALS)
VALORANT Champions 2024, the fourth edition of the tournament, was held in Seoul, South Korea, from August 1–24, 2024. As the pinnacle of the Valorant competitive calendar, the event drew record-breaking global attention, peaking at over 2.4 million concurrent viewers, and securing its place as one of the most-watched tournaments in the game's history.
For the Finals teaser, we wanted to elevate our exploration of metaphysical space and time. To create an emotional analogy for the isolation players feel the day before a big match, we placed them alone in literal Outerspace — a vast, silent reflection of their internal pressure. The film tapped into themes of overcoming fear, facing pressure head-on, and the belief that collective effort ultimately conquers all.
The production posed major challenges, not only due to an incredibly tight post-production timeline but also due to the complexity of needing multiple possible endings. With four semifinalist teams, we needed to prepare for four possible Finals matchups, resulting in four different video outcomes — one for each potential pairing. Scenes had to be shot multiple ways, with different eyelines and blocking, to seamlessly support whichever two teams advanced, requiring precision in both planning and performance to keep the emotion and narrative intact.
